We are Here!!

This is from a weekday hike we went on.

The back of the duplex is all undeveloped and right against a mountain. The kids and Molly are in heaven.

We made it to Cedar 3 weeks ago. I forgot all there is to do when you move. Not to mention a new State. I still haven't braved the DMV but will after our house closes (this Friday the 29th). We showed up Tue. My parents moved to St. George two weeks before we got here so they came with Scott to help unload. Samantha and Stephen started school Thurs. Of course we had to make a trip to the health Department to get shots (hep A) that Utah requires. Rebecca came to help unpack some while get this her youngest was at school. Wow is it nice to be close to family. Todd gets off work at 4 and it is light outside till 8-8:30 so we have been able to go out and play even on the weekdays. Stephen was excited to find his school teacher was also the Primary President. So as I registered the kids for school the Primary Pres got all my kids info to be ready on Sunday. Only in Utah. We ended up getting a call from a realtor the first week. Todd had talked to her about lots because he really wanted to finally get to build a house. I had planned on staying in this duplex for a while. Well to make a long story short we walked out of this house and I turned to Todd and said sorry but you know we have to buy this. He said yeah and we made our offer the next day.

So poor Todd doesn't get to build but not having the headache and work has much to be said in it's favor. The fully landscaped yard with the planted fruit trees and raised garden bed, deck, and .42ac all were part of the decision. Ok the fully finished basement of a 1700sq ft home may have had something to do with it also.

We have already had Jeremy and Krista & kids stop by on thier way to CA. I think it's what 5 hours to Disneyland from here. We may go sometime (not this year). We brought them up to see the dinosaur footprints that have fallen off a cliff. It is a treasure hunt for fossils as it is just a spot on the side of the road. Not marked you just have to know it's there. The kids are already done with school. Sarah and Sabrina didn't go at all since we got here so they really get a long vacation.

Sat night Daniel called to say he was coming and just in time to sit with kids while Todd and I gave talks in church. Monday for Memorial we went to Scott and Rebecca's in St. George for a great barbacue and swimming at G&G's community pool. The kids love having a new set of cousins to get to know better.

I am sure next week will see us painting and doing a few things to the house and then packing our stuff over to the new house.

Really the most exciting part is Stephen turns 8 this next week and so he is getting baptized on Saturday the 6th. I can't believe he is so big. He has been talking about this since his 7th birthday so we are all excited. It will be sad to not see the Vancover cousins as much as we did before but in a few years we will get to see anyone headed off to BYU and maybe we can talk them in to coming down for a bit of waterskiing or something.
